[IC NAME] Reno
[FANDOM] Final Fantasy VII
[GENDER] Male
[AGE] Mid to late twenties
[HEART] Still with him.
[FAMILY] Unknown.
[DESTINATION] Gaia {FF7}
[ORIGIN] Gaia {FF7}
[APPEARANCE] Easy to point out in a crowd, Reno’s looks seem like they’re meant to draw your attention. He is the second tallest of the four main Turks at 5’11”, Rude being the one who beats him. His physique is lanky in appearance and though it’s hard to actually tell, it is likely that he has a muscular build in order to make it in his career. He’s thin, about 140 lbs. and seems unable to actually gain weight. He eats whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, regardless that it could be detrimental to his health.
His hair is…well, unique, to say the least. The vibrant red locks seem to have no semblance of order to them, which is probably done on purpose. The majority of his hair is kept short and spiked in every direction, with several strands that manage to almost frame the outer sides of his face. Towards the back his hair is longer and kept in a pony tail, coming down to his middle back. It is rarely taken out of his pony tail, and he resents it when people try to remove it.
Reno’s skin is pale and soft with several scars marking his body from various fights he’s been in throughout his life, on and off the job. There is a set of symmetrical tattoos on his face, underneath and off to the side of his shockingly green eyes. These tattoos are red in color and are shaped like crescent moons, but up close it’s obvious that they’re just tattoos. No one is sure if Reno’s eyes are a product of mako exposure or strange genetics, but it’s more than likely the former.
He is rarely seen without his Turk clothing; consisting of a pair of black slacks, boots that often appear dirty, a white shirt, and a black jacket thrown over that. Reno adds a bit of his personality to his uniform by leaving his white dress shirt un-tucked, and refusing to wear a tie. He also is usually seen with a pair of goggles strapped to his forehead for no reason whatsoever, except that they apparently ‘look cool, yo.’
[PERSONALITY] More than anything, Reno likes having a good time. He does what he wants when he wants to just because. For instance, if he starts craving a peanut butter sandwich with leeks and marsh mellows, he’ll find a way to get one. If he decides he doesn’t like the way you look, he might just hit you a few times with his EMR to try to make you less ugly. Seriously.
This pleasure-first, work-never act usually gets him labeled as a lazy sod who never turns in his paper work on time, and that would be correct. He does, however, take his field work seriously, just not anything that involves making his boss’s lives easier. Reno knows his stuff when it comes to being a Turk, even if he doesn’t act like it half the time. He’s generally a playful individual, unless you’ve got him when he’s in one of his ‘moods’ or if you’ve managed to make him mad. In that case, beware of the more cynical, sarcastic, and cruel side of Reno. He didn’t get his job as a Turk by being a nice guy all the time.
Another thing to be careful about as far as this red head’s concerned is that he’s a huge flirt, and arrogant to boot. If you’ve got a pretty face and a nice body, beware. Reno has probably already noticed this and is probably trying to sweet talk you into coming back to his place for the night. This might not be so bad to some of you, but if you’re looking for a long-term relationship with this guy, you’re out of luck. He may show some semblance of loyalty to his fellow Turks, but he’s not the kind of guy that likes to stick around. You’ll be lucky if he’s even there the morning after.
[ASSOCIATION] The Turks, President ShinRa, etc. Mostly just people who work within ShinRa.
[HISTORY] Though not much is known of Reno's past through the game, it is often speculated that he grew up in the Sector 7 slums, directly under the plate (because of his tendency to add ‘zo to’ to the end of his sentences in the Japanese version of FFVII, the equivalent of saying ‘yo’). He ran around with several local gangs as a brat, doing odd jobs that ranged from dealing weapons to hotwiring cars. It was while he was trying to 'borrow' a Wutanese man's car that the red head had his first interaction with the Turks.
Reno was only a teenager at the time and as cocky as he still is today. So, when he was caught trying to take a man named Tseng's car and was spotted, he went on the offensive. Unfortunately for him, he got his face pounded into the pavement. After being considerably roughed up, the teenager was taken against his will to ShinRa Administrative Research HQ. It was there he was given a choice (as Tseng had noticed some potential in the fiery kid); join the Turks, or die a rather painful death for attempting to assault a member of the Investigation Division of the General Affairs Department. Naturally, he didn't choose the latter.
Shortly after Reno completed his training as a Turk, he was assigned his first partner; a stoic man named Rude. Though the two didn't exactly hit it off at first (a result of Reno breaking Rude's sunglasses), they eventually learned to work together, and after some time, became friends, of sorts. He’s been working for ShinRa for about nine years now, and has recently been assigned to deal with the experiments that escaped from Hojo’s laboratory.
